Ask This Site
A conversational assistant grounded in this site, designed and built end to end: corpus pipeline, prompt, serverless function, interface. The whole site goes into context on every question, with no retrieval step. It is live in the corner of this page, and it refuses to tell you whether to hire me.

Kevin Cussen Product Lead · LiteFarm Managed Loïc directly · 2025
I gave him the difficult and often competing mandates to both think strategically about what our small team and global user base needed, while also ensuring well-researched and sufficiently polished UI mocks for our engineering team to deliver. He excelled in both tasks and clearly communicated trade-offs where they existed.
Antonella Sgarlatta Tech Lead · LiteFarm Same team · 2025
He's been a great advocate for users, keeping their experience at the forefront of team conversations and pushing us to improve it. He's an excellent communicator, able to articulate the reasoning behind his design decisions with non-designers.
Thomas Bjelkeman-Pettersson Serial Entrepreneur · Akvo Managed Loïc for 7 years
Loïc is steady as a rock, funny and opinionated in just the right amount to be a colleague that challenges you, but also gets on with the work.

About

Fifteen years of design that has to work the first time.

Earlier on, my interest in design started with a punk band in Bordeaux. I was the one drawing the posters and album covers. The band split, the interest didn't. I found graphic design work, landed a job in Paris, then the web arrived and flipped everything.

Later, I moved to London, taught myself HTML, CSS and JavaScript because the things I designed never looked right when devs built them. That stubbornness became a real edge. I became a front-end specialist, then started asking harder questions: not just how should this work, but who is this for, and does it solve the right problem?

That shift led me to usability, accessibility, and UX. I've spent the years since at Blinkbox (2M+ users before acquisition), a decade as Head of Design at Akvo working with UNICEF, the UN, and the Dutch Government, and now leading UX at LiteFarm. On my own time, I designed, built, and launched Farmscribe solo, alongside an independent AI design consultancy.

I also shoot street photography, documentary and portrait. Same discipline: find the light, isolate the subject, strip away what's unnecessary, find colour harmony. That practice sharpens how I compose screens.

"Composingthe silenceof the city."

Started in Bordeaux. Paris. London. Now Helsinki, where the light disappears for months and people don't want their photo taken. That forced a shift: you stop waiting for scenes to happen and start building them. You earn every frame. I learned on a 35mm, on film. No zoom means you commit before you shoot. That constraint taught me more about composition and colour than anything I read. I still work around 35mm today. I chase the moment when colours stop competing and align. A yellow that finds its blue. A person who fits their surroundings like they were always meant to be there. Street photography and interface design are the same problem: what do you keep, what do you cut, where does the eye go first. Twenty years of working on that question. Still don't have a complete answer.
